Wanda Pendergrass recently retired from a 27 year career of serving children with speech and language disorders, autism spectrum disorders and hearing loss. She was passionate about training and mentoring professionals and parents through TEACCH trainings, NCDPI sponsored conferences and coaching.

Wanda has been a voracious reader since childhood. Her “Pawpaw” emphasized the importance of reading and writing. On one of her birthdays, he gave her a little green diary, which led to her lifestyle of journaling. Wanda was tied to the hip of her grandfather and cherished the intimate conversations they had while sitting in the yard under the shade trees. They talked about the importance of good character, good eye contact, not starting a fight but not being afraid to fight, and so much more. After Pawpaw passed, Wanda was left with a void. During a time of personal spiritual reading of John17: 25-26, the words, “I have come to show you the Father,” resonated in her heart. She felt like God was saying that she could have intimate conversations with him just as she had with her Pawpaw. God wanted her to know Him as father, as dad, who loved his daughter Wanda. And now, her years of journaling have become Conversations with My Dad, which is being shared with you through her blog.
